An accelerometer is a device that measures the vibration, or acceleration of motion of a structure. The force caused by vibration or a change in motion (acceleration) causes the mass to "squeeze" the piezoelectric material which produces an electrical charge that is proportional to the force exerted upon it. Since the charge is proportional to the force, and the mass is a constant, then the charge is also proportional to the acceleration.
Time between the memory's receiving and new input address and the output data's becoming available in a read operation.
Principal register of an arithmetic-logic unit (ALU).
An electronic filter that combines active circuit devices, usually amplifiers, with passive circuit elements, such as resistors and capacitors. Active filters typically have characteristics that more closely match ideal filters than do strictly passive filters.
Active Logic Level
Logic level at which a circuit is considered active.
Formerly known as OLE controls. A special form of component Automation Object that can be freely plugged into any OLE-enabled development tool, application or web browser.
Electronically controlled device that controls a physical variable.
Number that uniquely identifies the location of a word in memory.
Unidirectional lines that carry the address code from the CPU to memory and I-O devices.
Multiplexing used in dynamic RAM to save IC pins that involves latching the two halves of a complete address into the IC in separate steps.
